At the 2016 Kennedy Center Mark Twain Awards Ceremony, Bill Murray was spotted wearing our Hessian lapel flower, soon to be released online.
Bill Murry Style
Bill wore his lapel pin on his jacket pocket during the photos and interviews on the Red Carpet. While we don’t recommend wearing it this low, we can’t help but think how he owns the look.
Further into the night, when he was accepting his award, the lapel pin moved up to it’s proper position on his notched lapel.
He sported something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. His something blue was in support of the Chicago Cubs, who are in the World series for the first time since 1945. The yellow Hessian lapel flower was his something new!
Sterling & Burke, located in historic Georgetown, Washington, DC was where he picked up his stylish accessory. You can stop in to see what Dapper Lapel items are available or shop online. Our Hessian collection is soon to be released online so be sure to keep an eye out so you can sport the same style as Bill Murray!

Mark Twain Award
The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize fo American Humor was created in 1998 to recongize comidians and homorists who have had an impact on the American society in a similary fashion as Mark Twain (or Samuel Clemens).
Humor must not professedly teach, and it must not professedly preach, but it must do both if it would live forever.
Bill Murray was the 2016 recipeint of the award. Most recently, recipients include Eddie Murphy, Jay Leno, Carol Burnett, Ellen DeGeneres, Will Ferrell and Tina Fey who won in 2010.
Thank you to Sterling & Burke for stocking our items in their Washington, DC store and a huge thank you to Bill Murray and his team for selecting our lapel flower!
